Usage meter seemingly out

Post by supernicko » Sat Apr 25, 2009 1:08 am

Hi guys,

Usage meter is currently showing that we downloaded 5.5g today but uploaded almost 20gig.

I could believe that we may have stuffed up and downloaded that amount, but the upload amount? I think there might be an issue here.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi

I was just about to kill the kids for excessive downloading during the day and decided to have a look at the usage meter and found that the 24/4/09 replicated 16 times with a value of 608.84.

Pretty sure the 24th only happend once this month can this be fixed please.

So glad I didn't kill the kids now.

It looks like its taken the entire usage for the month, and put it all on one day !
(essentially doubling the usage !)

I freaked out when i saw my usage at 200% !

I too have got this problem;
24/04/2009
Off Peak:
Upload - 1833.12MB
Download - 41481.76MB

On Peak:
Upload - 2877.92MB
Download - 9209.28MB

I presume this will be fixed promptly?

I've been affected too haha. 54 gbs for me in the offpeak. Putting me at 90 something for the month. Where can I open a ticket?

Talk about getting a shock! I thought I'd have a quick squz at my mini Exetel usage meter and it showed an estimated $250 excess use charge. I then checked my account and found I'd downloaded 111Gb in offpeak yesterday and 22Gb in peak! :P No duplication of the 24th, but some very large numbers :!:

I'd hate to see what the big downloaders usage actually looks like.

Funny how so many people were independently checking their usage meters. You've got to feel for those people that don't contemplate that it might be an error, or that don't check the forums. There will be some very worried users out there!

I got message thus...

Exetel Usage Block

Your Usage From: 01-April-2009 (Updated at 2009-04-25 02:08:37 AEDST )
Peak: 2925.18 MB / 12000 MB

Off-Peak: 44934.15 MB / 54000 MB

You have been temporarily blocked from accessing your internet service because you have elected to use the 'Shaped' option for the period [ 12 Noon to 12 Midnight ] on 25/04/2009

This means that you have a further 2 gigabytes of downloads to use between now and 12 midnight on the last day of this calendar month.

This additional 2 gigabytes should be ample for any email or web browsing needs together with a reasonable amount of small downloads.

However we strongly recommend that you cease using P2P or downloading any further downloads for the balance of this calendar month.

To immediately restore your service and to signify that you understand and agree that your next 2 gigabytes will be slowed and that if you download more than a further 2 gigabytes between now and the end of this calendar month you will be charged at a rate of $6.00 per gigabyte or part thereof please click on the link bleow.
Or, if you are accessing this page from an external site, provide your ADSL telephone number:

As you can see my downloads didn't show anything abnormal...and I had to agree to above terms to restore internet connection

I have emailed support and hopefully they will advise I can resume downloading without fear of $6/GB charge

Took quite a while for service to restore itself too

Uploaded the screenshot if anyone cares :p

Yep had the same problem but hadnt checked my usage meter as I thought there has to be a problem with my internet and beleived the Blocked screen. By that blocked screen it says that you havent come close to exceeding the limits anyway and mine was the same.

I put in a fault ticket and havent heard back from them.

I guess its fixed now created a bit of worry when I was locked out of the internet.
