Usage meter showing future usage !
I just checked the usage meter and its showing that ive downloaded ~350MB in the peak period for the 4th july, which is kinda strange considering it won't be the peak period for another 11 hours or so ! Seems that my offpeak traffic is being registered as peak traffic.
Is anyone else getting this error ?

Yep, I am in Adelaide and I already have ~100MB recorded for peak usage on 04/07/2009.
My wife has a separate connection in WA, and she has around 600MB of peak usage recorded for 04/07/2009 as well.

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
Is your Peak-Offpeak still 12-12, or have you changed to 1-1 or 2-2? If so, that could account for it.
Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
yes it is 8.19 here and i have already been charged for peak usage as well. admittedely not much but it is there.I have changed from 2 to 2 as it suits me better, so i can;'t see that as being the problem.
Thanks for your help in advance

No problem that you have changed to 0200-1400. However, 04 Jul 09 Started at 0001. So you have had 2 hours of peak before off peak kicked insparkles wrote:I have changed from 2 to 2 as it suits me better, so i can;'t see that as being the problem.

Your other 10 hours of peak for the 4th will be 1400-2359.
That is a setting in control panel, probably due to clicking daylight saving.OK looking at my clock and it is 8.22 EST but iut says that i wrote the message at 9.21 this could be part of the reason

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
Off-peak is set as 12AM-12PM...from the recent change of off-peak time calculation, presumably it would mean local time in Adelaide.
It seems like Exetel has implemented the local off-peak time by counting usage after 12:00AM EST as peak usage for the following day, even though at local time that should really be peak usage for that same day.

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
My off peak is set from 12am - 12pm.
So to have my offpeak hours from 12 am - 12 pm WA time, i set it to 2am - 2pm (which is EST)?

You set it for 12-12. Since 1 Jul 09 all times are local. So for you WST is what you have.greenmynci wrote:So to have my offpeak hours from 12 am - 12 pm WA time,

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
I also have "future" usage.
I checked it an hour before peak kicks in and I have usage for today. It was the same yesterday.
Just wondering if anyone from Exetel is working on the usage meter problems that seem to be happening since July 1 in SA and WA?

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
hi guys sorry to be a pain but there is also still future usage showing on my peak times as well.every time i log on it shows that there is 0.2 gb of usage in the peak period. this is when there has been no one on the computer from about 10 or so each night sometimes later admittedly but as this is happening every day it is slowly eroding away the peak time. Yes i have changed my time from the 12 /12 to 2/2 and i live in Newcawstle NSW- so there really shouldnt be any peak time until after 2 pm in the afternoon, not at 6 in the morning when i log onto the computer most week days.
As i said sorry to be a pain but can anyone explain?

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
With the switch to 0200-1400 for off peak, the period 0001-0200 is now peak for that day. That is, today is 12 Jul 09. There has already been two hours of peak today (for those with the 02/14 off peak).sparkles wrote:no one on the computer from about 10 or so each night sometimes later admittedly but as this is happening every day it is slowly eroding away the peak time. You say no one is on the computer, but is the computer on? Are there updates scheduled at that time (windows? anti-virus? etc)
Do you have an insecure wireless access point.
A sure way to check is to turn off the modem before 0000 and check in the morning. If there is peak usage then log a job. If not, then it seems as though it is legitimate and you'll need to find the source if you want to stop it.

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
I am on 12-12 for peak-off peak and at 9:29 am I've used 109Meg of peak usage for the day.
Yes, the computer is on and using the modem, but my peak time starts in 2.5 hours time - how can I have used any of my peak allocation before it starts?

Re: Usage meter showing future usage !
Is this in the summary view, or the detailed view? Last time there was an issue with peak/off-peak usage it was confined to the summary view only. If so you can use the detailed view for now while the apparent error in the summary view is looked into. Either way, I would email either residentialsupport@exetel.com.au or billing@exetel.com.au to ensure they are aware of the matterrobm wrote:I am on 12-12 for peak-off peak and at 9:29 am I've used 109Meg of peak usage for the day.
