Should I be logging a fault ticket?

I am a moderate user. And I only download during the off-peak hours. Today, I was out at the beach, none of my housemates are at home. My wireless network is secured using AES and does not even broadcast SSID.

How is it possible that I downloaded 4gb worth of data in that amount of time? The only computer that I have turned on during that period of time is set to never download any updates. And is set to seeding only during peak hour.

My usage was not past the limit before I went to the beach at around 4pm. So, it is impossible for 4gb to have been used up all of a sudden. Even when everyone is home, I have never gone past 1gb before, during peak hour and now, 4 ?

Please solve this problem for me. I do not want to be paying for quota that I did not use.

In effect you are querying the ISP's router stats. You could start by comparing the stats in your own modem/router. Traffic is usually recorded from a start date that can be reset, or from boot time. Do you have traffic monitoring software in the computer? (Built-in in Unix based systems, and readily available for Windows). If you leave a server unattended, you should, unless you use a gateway computer. Note that the uploading figures say 'busy' too.

Hmm.. I'm not sure if someone fixed it or if it was a glitch... but right now, it has jumped back to 498.12mb. I have no idea if I was able to use that much quota. But, I think it could be possible, so I won't be complaining. I do upload when I am not at home on P2P. But only on a few files.

Secure wireless with WPA (not WEP).

Use a 20 digit (or more) random password - not words and not short.

Hiding SSID is not a security protection. Nor is MAC filtering.
