Usage Email is Incorrect?

Post by Tazz » Mon May 24, 2010 12:58 pm

I just received a usage email as below,
Dear Sir/Madam,

This is Exetel ADSL/Wireless usage notification email.
Service number:*********
Your peak usage has reached over 80% of your account allowance.
You are currently 77% of the way through the billing month.
To check your latest daily usage details, please login to your member's facilities: http://www.exetel.com.au
To unsubscribe from this list, please click button 'Information From Exetel' in your member's facilities.
Thank you.
Regards,
Exetel Pty Ltd
So I logged in to check and it says something different, that of my peak 60gig I have used 40gig, which is not over 80% as stated in the email!
So why on earth did I get the email!?

I'd say its a mistake, got mine as well, but for 150% useage of Peak, as you can see - well off the mark !!

Peak | Period Option: 2:00 pm to 2:00 am
0.2 GB / 30 GB (0.67%)
Off-Peak | Period Option: 2:00 am to 2:00 pm
0.12 GB / 60 GB (0.20%)

You can't imagine by surprise when I received an email at 12:28pm:
Your peak usage has reached over 200% of your account allowance.

You are currently 77% of the way through the billing month.
200%. My usage is only at 58.4% (as of 1:30pm)

Major problems with the usage meters lately!
On the 21st it says I downloaded 0.00 meg in the offpeak, when I downloaded 2 big files overnight!
I don't trust it anymore, I check the figures in my DU Meter and write them down at 12am and 12pm every day to keep track of where I am.

Have also had this email today, which stated I'd used "over 100%" of my peak allowance, though when checking in user facilities it shows I've used only 25%.

Should I just ignore this email for now?
