When you say almost exactly the same, what was the difference between now and then?

The attachment was different. They were both word documents 'printed' to PDF with the same application. They just had different text (one was our fax header and the other was poking fun at one of the girls here).

I resent the poking fun one after the fax header was sucessful and it came through straight away too (and confirmation emails were received).

Quite odd.

One issue in conversion have been identified with Adobe Acrobat Pro V8.

If anyone also has this conversion program, could you please send through a fax to the Exetel fax number 0299649318 for further evidence.

Thanks Will.

I just tested with an A4 landscape pdf document, and it was printed as portrait with half of the document cut off.
Would I have to convert the document to portrait 1st?

Anne

Hi Anne,

Correct. You will need to have the file formatted to portrait.

Are Office 2k7 files not accepted?

I just had a word 2k7 document rejected by the server.

.docx files are unable to be converted as our conversioning system isn't compatible/hasn't released an update for .docx files.

Currently, we're looking at any upgrades/replacements but as of yet haven't been able to identify a reliable/robust one.

Hi Will sorry to be a pain but I just tried sending a fax with a .doc attached and that came back to me as well :(

Code: Select all

Your email to fax has failed due to invalid fax attachment Possible solutions:
- Send file in a different format. .JPEG -> .GIF
- Send file in a different format. .EMAIL -> .DOC
- Ensure that the area code is included in the destination fax number. Eg "02"
Destination: 0248712xxx
Sent at: 15-01-2008_08:48:02
It was definitely a .doc. I saved it as that in Word before attaching and in my Sent folder the attachment shows the .doc extension.

Is there something I have or haven't done?
