Failed PDF
Hi,my fax to email seems to be working with just text in the body of the email, however i tried to send a PDF attatchment to the Exetel fax number and it failed.Apparently there is record of something being sent to Exetel.I didnt get the normal failure message via email nor is there any evidence of it being sent or not in my user facilities. Can this be checked out please? Kind regards Scott
Hard work never killed anyone ..but im not taking any chances

Hi shonky,
As you have said, there is no record on our end that you sent an email to the Email To Fax service.
I also see no record of it reaching our fax server either. I cannot see how there is a record of something being sent, but no record of the fax being sent. So if Richard K has confirmed a record of it being sent then it is probably best to speak with him or just resend your email to fax.

Will I had one fail on me this morning (Wed 05/12/2007 9:53 AM) too. No emails were received and it doesn't show in user facilities. Luckily I was just messing around anyway (not an important fax), but I am worried about sending future faxes to people and them not going through.
If anything points to a problem at our end I will gladly follow up on it, but I've never had problems with emails not being received before.

Fax via Email Service
It would be good if you could receive faxes sent to the same fax email address that you can send them from.
When is likely to be possible?

Your ideal is not possible at this moment.cdm wrote:It would be good if you could receive faxes sent to the same fax email address that you can send them from.

In the future, we will try to develop Virtural Fax Number, which you can use for two way fax. It will be similar with Exetel two way SMS, which you can do email2sms and sms2email.
Hi Will,William M wrote:HI Bundy,
No email was received on our end, I'll need more details to find out what happened.
Such as where you sent the email too, the email address it was sent from. What was contained within the subject line, what attachment you sent and its details.
Please PM those details.
Thanks Will
It was sent to the same fax number and from the same address as all of my previous (sucessful and unsucessful) attemps, with only the password in the subject line. The attachment was a PDF.
Shonky and Bundy I still need more information.
From my end I have no record at all that any email was sent. If it is not being received at all by the email server there's little I can do to solve an issue that doesn't exist on my end without additional information.
The only testing available to me is testing multiple email accounts sending emails through, which I have done from 5 different accounts as well as 4 different mail clients.

Will I have just sent another test message now.
It shows in my Sent Box as being sent at 12:53PM. We use exchange and our own mail hosting (I don't know what the 'technical' term is for that).
It was sent to 0-2-4-8-7-1-2-8-8-5.
From, graham-at-rosscowley-dot-com-dot-au.
The only thing in the subject line was the password for the above address.
The file attached was a PDF called "Microsoft Word - FACSIMILE TRANSMISSION" which is 1 page and 32.0 KB.
This is almost exactly the same as my test yesterday. I will update on the result of the test.
