Fax number formats

Post by ajay987 » Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:09 pm

My software stores fax numbers in international format eg.

+61 2 9999 9999

I've tried sending using this format +61299999999 and it doesn't work.

Have also tried 61299999999 and this doesn't work either.

0299999999 works ok.

001161299999999 works ok.

Is it possible for your software to replace/interpret the + with 0011 as it is not practical to store this additional detail in the software?

Regards
Adam

So that means a fax to a Sydney fax number could be addressed to either:

02xxxxxxxx@fax.exemail.com.au or
612xxxxxxxx@fax.exemail.com.au?

That's excellent customer service with extraordinary response time. <Insert bowing and clapping here>.

Exetel's response to customer input is outstanding. I've never seen anything like this since I started working in IT.

Cheers,

Mike
