I've been having problems sending out faxes from my Outlook 2007 client. I've just done some testing and here's what I've found. I would love if other Outlook 2007 users can try this also to confirm.
Send a fax using the default settings. A simple PDF like this one is what I've been using:
By default, the message should be sent as rich text, and I expect it will fail with a bad attachment message.
Now, send again, but right-click the email address (i.e. fax number) you are sending to and select;
- Send Options
- Tick "I want to specify the format..."
- Select "HTML"
I found that using the same fax number and attachment through my Exchange server worked fine for Outlook 2003, but failed for 2007.
For me, I will set email sent to fax.exemail.com.au to always be HTML. If you are just using one computer then setting the option as above should remember it everytime you send to that recipient, but you will need to remember to do it for all faxes you send.
Sending as Plain Text doesn't seem to work, HTML does... for me at least, so if other 2007 users can test and let me know your results...
