email to fax - is it working? - Yes it is ! :-)

Last night I registered my gmail email address for email to fax & sent a simple one page PDF within minutes of the setup.

Waited 30mins for a response email, and nothing.
I then registered an exemail address for the service & tried from that using exetel's webmail.
Still no response.

Email to fax still does not list any faxes as being sent.

So my question is if this service is still a valid service & what if anything did I do wrong?
I followed the FAQ & sent to the correct address with my password as the subject & attached the PDF.

??? Help

Same here. Just tried to send a fax and the item did not appear under the status page after more than an hour. Tried to fax something last month and the item pretty much appears immediately, so I guess there's some issue with the email 2 fax service.

Hmm

That's disapointing, kind of reliable as a real fax machine :shock:

The fax service should probably be listed on Exetel's Service Status page http://exetel.com.au/a_network.php

I have logged a ticket for this problem at 7.00am this morning but have NOT received any response. :(

We've sent multiple faxes so far today. Nothing has appeared in the list.
This has happened before, and it usually gets sorted out. When it does, you'll get a big hit of responses at once.

Is there no one working at exetel any more, a simple we are looking into the problem would help but your lack of response today is pethetic.

Please find that there was a delay with the faxes been sent, but that issue has been fixed now.

Well this is a user help forum. I know Exetel staff are on the forum, but if anyone seriously wants this problem fixed they should raise a ticket & not rely on the forum.
I simply needed to send a fax so I thought I'd try the service. So far it hasn't impressed me.

EDIT: I just received a confirmation email that it was sent ! Maybe there is hope :D

Hi All,

The fax service is sending through. If you sent an email from a non-exemail address due to mail load balancing rules it place, it will take a maximum of 30 minutes for the reply to be sent back.

Sent 5 emails from 1 hour - 30 mins ago. No reply email, nothing on Exetel page indicating any faxes have been sent today. Is this service having problems?

Also, one of those faxes needs to be cancelled. Is there a way to do this?

I've identified a delay on the processor.

Can you please resubmit you faxes and they will go through.
