SMTP Email sender automatically getting a copy

Post by squeakytown » Mon Nov 25, 2019 10:30 am

Hi,

Can you please confirm Exetel are automatically sending the smtp sender (bcc) email account a copy of emails which are sent from the free Exetel website.
I don't see the same behavior from the Paid Exetel website hosting.

We aren't including an bcc in our code, but this occurs regardless in the free area but not the paid.

Hi Dave,

This is not 100% clear for me. Are you referring to exemail email? or free web hosting? If you have any examples, please forward an email to hosting@exetel.com.au and mention your service details. We will get our system admins to check and reply to you.

Sorry - this is all sending email from the Exetel Free and paid hosting via PHP.
The same code is used for both, But the Free site automatically bcc in the sender.

I have no code for bcc at this point - so this is being done I suspect by Exetel's configuration.

Hi Dave,

I have further discussed with them and they are happy to investigate this. Forward the service details with your query to hosting@exetel.com.au and provide the reference number here, so I can follow up with them accordingly.

Hi,

I have emailed hosting@exetel.com.au yesterday (and I also emailed a different issue on Saturday).
Neither has resulted in the normal auto reply with a reference number...
