The Ubuntu mirror is auto updated once a day.ottyacat wrote:The new Ubuntu 8.04 is out in 24 daysWith apt set to Exetel's mirror updates are always at full speed. Will you be mirroring the new version close to the release date? Or will that just happen automatically?

Can we also have speedtest dummy files like:
http://mirror.3fl.net.au/pub/speedtest/
http://www.tpg.com.au/test3.iso
Just half a linux corrupt .iso file will do to measure the users download speed.
A PcBSD Mirror would also be excellent, don't forget about the PHP mirror, just mirror:
http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/php/

Knoppix :)
Gday, I've just got to having a look through the mirror . I'd only looked briefly and couldn't find what I wanted before.
There's more burried than I realised.
Any chance of hosting Knoppix? I haven't been able to find it in Aus, plannet mirror seem to "list" way more than they actually "have"...
Also I think most would be happier with just the latest versions of more apps, rather than the full mirror of a few ...
But maybe just my opinion...
I love the ADSL2 speed from the mirror
Thanks, Jim

Pity I get 200 kbps downloads from the mirror, despite a 12 Mbps sync speed.bowjjj wrote: of a few ...

Hi, I'm new to all this and its great to see this forum, plus the mirror. I just want to know exactly what the gamershell part of the mirror is, does it mean we can download files from gamershell and not be charged downloads from exetel? Also would like to see some game demos or the like on the mirror.
Cheers

All downloads from the Exetel mirror are counted towards your data allowance, it is just there so you get the best speeds you can.
