index.html file in web

Post by rossj » Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:52 am

How do you install the files called index.html index.php in your new web site via FTP
Since the change over I have lost my web site when I tried to upload via the new password and name it says the site is forbidden to me?
Last time I installed a index file and that made it work.
Can you help

1 If you haven't already done so, go to the members' facilities and reserve yourself space on the new web server. Request your old page name. Read the instructions.
2 You will be given a new login name and password for your ftp client.
3 Using a proper ftp client, transfer your index.html and any other needed files to the new server.
4 Using the ftp client, check the file permissions of your files - if necessary chmod them to 705 (User:r,w,x; Others: r,x)

Thanks for the help. I got it going finally. I was using the incorrect password! When you change it the site does not show the new name? ( after you log off and you want to check it?)
