Moodle

Post by linuxlover » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:27 pm

I have been looking for a place to host a small moodle site.
I am considering the paid space as shown at http://www.exetel.com.au/w_web_hosting.php
I was wondering whether such a space (200MB) would be suitable.

The required php version for the soon to be released version 2 of moodle is 5.2.8 and other information that I do not understand is shown at
http://docs.moodle.org/en/PHP_settings_ ... le_version. (Though the older version may suit our needs fine).

I was also wondering what limitation would be placed on the external database? (As indicated on http://docs.moodle.org/en/User_site_capacities) - Though as we are only expecting it to be a small installation this is unlikely to be an issue).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi :) If Exetel doesn't suit for whatever reason, I do cPanel-based hosting which includes Moodle hosting; but yeah wait to see what Exetel says first.

The Website Hosting service we offer meets the requirements as per the Moodle page with an exception of 1 or 2 small things, which can be corrected just for your site once you have ordered.

If you only have a handful of users there should be no database problems either.
