max_user_connections setting for database

Post by wooferdog » Mon May 17, 2010 1:36 pm

Hi All,

Just activated my hosting and MySQL DB to give Lime Survey ( http://www.limesurvey.org/ ) a bit of trial run for some stuff I'm doing.

Everything was working correctly until I got into the administration side of the site. I altered some settings and clicked "save", and now all actions return "User fwdbu7229 already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections".

PHPMyAdmin was working, then it started bouncing with this error, and now it just sits there and returns no error but just the login screen.

Any idea what the max_user_connections is on the server?
How long before the active mysql connections will timeout?

I have changed the password for MySQL, and updated the site config, but it still returns this error. It started happening around 10:00, so it's been ongoing for the last ~3 hours.

Thanks in advance for assistance :-)

10 connections per user.

This will depend on when does your mysql query finish what it suppose to do.

It seems to me there might be something you need to fix in your scripts.
I've PMed you the details.

Thanks for the details.

Not sure what got done, but it seems to be working now.

Never got the PM, so I don't know if anything needs a permanent fix or not...
