Angelo or anyone else who knows?

I still have my paid hosting space for another year.

Can still access by FTP to 220.233.0.22

I cannot figure out the subdomain. I thought it should be:

http://220.233.0.22/home/web_xxxxxxxxxx ... /index.php

but that is giving me access denied (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is the centre part of the domain name).

Incidentally the new DNS records are percolating nicely around the world. Thanks Angelo.

Regards,
Dave
I can see that you have it set up with a different provider as well. If you are not using these features any more we can cancel the services but would require you to send the request to hosting via your nominated email address.

Or you could respond to the email thread about the domain itself.

If you use a FTP client you will be able to access the directories via the application itself if that is what you are trying to do. (Eg. Filezilla)

Hi Angelo,

No- I want to keep the paid hosting for another year. I DO NOT want to cancel it.

Yes, I can access it by FTP.

But I need web access as well and I cannot figure out the path.

I know it is on 220.233.0.22

I know the path includes /home/web_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/web/www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.org/public_html at the end (because I used this for setting tmp directories) but I do not know what is in between!

Please help me out here. We will be using the space for off-main-site development and testing.

Thanks,
Dave

We recommend you use a client such as Filezilla to do this and manage your files.

220.233.0.22 is the server these FTP spaces are affiliated to. You will not be able to access it through an http path as long as the A record is pointed to a different IP address.

You can access it via FTP because it is still active here but since it is pointed towards a different providers FTP server IP it will not render your site through FTP. :(

Hi Angelo, but the A record is associated with DNS.

I do not want to access it using DNS.

Surely it is accessible via IP and pathname via http?

I do this all the time with other providers prior to going live and setting up DNS. I am quite sure I did so with this site in 2007/8 when I first set it up.

Well, I shall request a refund. No point in paying $300 for the hosting for a year when it is inaccessible.

I will leave the Domain rego.
