OK, then I suggest you send an email to raymondl [AT] exetel.com.au to see if he can tell you the status.

Re: Exetel MoIP
Still the same issues with the new version:
T.
- Cannot make a call still... says "call in progress..." and phone doesn't ring at other end.
Program crashes when adjusting volume.
When trying to receive a VOIP call, phone rings, I select answer but no-one at other end and on the other end it keeps ringing like the call wasn't picked up at all...

Re: Exetel MoIP
I just installed MoIP and it started up, asked me for the access point. Then a few seconds later just closes.
Looks like I might reformat my Nokia E66 and try again.

Did you make sure to install it to the phone memory and not a memory card? This caught me out (with a similar result to yours) when I first installed it.vk3xem wrote:I just installed MoIP and it started up, asked me for the access point. Then a few seconds later just closes.

Yep sure did, I will reformat the phone later and try again. It is probably built up crud just like Windows XP does.

Re: Exetel MoIP
vk3xem,
I had a similar issue when I first installed the MoIP application on my E71. In my case it was because I had the Nokia SIP client still on and registered with the Exetel SIP server.
By making sure the Nokia SIP client was 'not registered', I could run the MoIP app without getting rid of any other SIP settings.

Re: Exetel MoIP
I've trialled the Moip app for a while now and find that the quality of the calls to be on par or better then the inbuilt voip client (E63). The only criticism I have is the battery drain is much worse then the inbuilt client. The Moip app drains the battery after about 10 hrs., the inbuilt client lasts at least a day or more. If power usage could be improved, I would have no hesitation in recommending this to others.

Re: Exetel MoIP
Hey Guys
I just saw this thread and I just have a couple of queries regarding MoIP as it could prove to be mind blowing!!!
Now as I use windows mobile, I would say all the apps use G711 codecs with none supporting G729, thus call quality using G711 and GSM can shocking due to latency, optus congestion issues etc. Using Fring/Nimbuzz can be okay at times but again there are at times a 2sec delay as the servers are not located in AUS.
So was wondering with the Exetel MoIP app.. I am assuming once development is completed for the Nokia symbion OS will move onto windows mobile.
The question I am wondering is:
* Does this app somehow improve call quality with the use of exetel servers located in AUS? I remember reading a long time ago Exetel tried to host Fring servers unsuccessfully.. so essentially the app works like Fring?
* or is it just a phone app that uses codecs like G711? or some alternative like G729 or ilbc with compression to allow for better call quality.
Sorry for the questions as I really hope this Exetel MoIP app enables all our handsets to use Voip with clarity!!!!
Cheers!!

Re: Exetel MoIP
I applied for this app on Sunday, when can I expect to get an email for it? Or should I apply for it again?
Re: Exetel MoIP
Whereabouts in the user facilities can I request this?
Re: Exetel MoIP
You can only request from HSPA User Facilties. Go to "VOIP" in the left-hand menu, then to "Exetel MOIP" in the sub-menu.
