I assume this application will replace both exeSMS and exeVOIP?

This afternoon I was expecting a call and so had ExetelMOIP running. When the call didn't arrive, I checked the Nokia (which had gone to "sleep" - screen dark) and found that ExetelMOIP had quietly crashed/closed and I had also lost the internet connection - chicken and egg, I don't know what happened first. There was no warning beep or anything and so I hadn't noticed anything amiss. I restarted ExetelMOIP and the same thing happened a few minutes later. This issue might have been related to the location I was in - perhaps the connection dropped and as a result ExetlMOIP quietly closed. If so, a warning beep would be handy. (I'm now at home and have had ExetelMOIP running for about 15 minutes without a problem - both open and hidden.)
The third time I restarted ExetelMOIP the call came in and I answered it and communicated both ways without issue. Outgoing calls are fine. Occasionally, the outgoing call doesn't connect at all but a redial usually results in a successful call - again, I think this issue is related to where I am when I attempt to make the call.
when your phone goes to sleep and when you receive an incoming sip call does your N96 crash?
I have had this issue. I emailed support. As far as I could tell all they did was remove my old number masking (could be much more to it than that). Works fine now.Need2No wrote:I've installed the MoIP application on my Nokia N95 phone (latest Nokia firmware).
1. When I try to call a PSTN (Telstra) number (9nnnnnnn or 029nnnnnnn), a message comes up as "Forbidden".
2. If I use 6129nnnnnnn, I get a "Not Found" message.
3. I can call a 13nnnn number it connects OK but the voice is broken up.
4. No problems dialing an Exetel VoIP number.
I have submitted the application form three times over the past month or so (the form itself doesn't confirm in a standard way that it even submitted correctly, it simply refreshes and drops the phone model and IMEI entered) and have received no response to any of these.notoriousft wrote:...I sent my request for this program twice but haven't had a reply so far. My guess is that there are enough beta testers out there providing headaches without others. I have been a tester and have returned to the ExeVoip application. Knowledge that a limited beta-testing program was in place certainly would have helped, but the link provided on the member's User Page doesn't indicate this at all.rjedw wrote:My guess is that there are enough beta testers out there providing headaches without others. Good to hear!Markovich wrote: I have now finally received an email reply from support indicating that a new version of the MoIP application should be available this week
I am using a Nokia 6120 which I think is part the problem. All registers OK but when the call is made, the called person cannot hear me and time lags. This has also been the experience of another 5120 user. I'm happy to stay with the Voip app for now. It's great that it works for you! Good luck.Gidget wrote: I'm interested to know what issues you have experienced with Exetel MoIP (I'm presuming you've already reported them to Exetel). I have found it better than ExeVoip (eg noticeably less lag) so that's why I'm curious.
G729 is usually the best for 3G, low bandwidth requirement, good qualitygmphoto wrote:What codec is recommended for SIP VOIP on 3G?
