Using extel sim in Mobile Phone

Post by granny1 » Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:36 pm

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can use my exetel WM - C Sim card in a mobile phone and connect to the Internet please?
The Phone is a china phone with dual sim cards.
It has Data accounts GPRS which it says not subscribed.
So how do I find out what the settings required would be?
As the phone works wonderfully well for everything else and will be a lot easier than taking the Laptop when I visit the grandies.
Thank you
Regards Granny :)

technically yes you could set it up by entering the APN details, it would however be painfully slow and possibly too much so for you to be able to put up with it

Hi Jokiin,
Thank you for your response.
Why would it be slow? as I have the internet on the ZTE T6 and that is not to slow, but the screen is small and I have difficulty seeing it.
Also the T6 just did it itself I didn't have to put anything in.
Regards Granny

your ZTE phone is 3G (like broadband), your Chinese dual SIM phone is 2G (like dialup but worse)

Hi Jokiin,
I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
Thank you for the info .... I didn't realize that.
So I will need to rethink that.
My MOIP phone is a nokia N73 that would do it wouldn't it?
I wonder if having Moip on it I could swap out the Sim Cards when I needed to access the net?
Regards Sue

yes the N73 would be much better for internet access as it will support the faster speeds
