Manual Settings For New Optus SIMs

Post by Chiv » Tue Nov 30, 2010 1:40 pm

Forgive me if there is a simple help FAQ somewhere else, but I searched these forums for the manual settings for MMS & GPRS with the new Optus SIMs. I have a couple of older mobiles that are not compatible with the help page on the Optus site. (http://optusau.wdsglobal.com/mainPage.html)
After much research and some trial & error, I found the settings. For anyone else in my position here they are:

MMS
Profile name: Doesn't matter
Access Point Name (APN): mms
Authorisation type: Normal
User ID: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Protocol: HTTP
Home URL: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002
Proxy address: 61.88.190.10:8070
If you see Static IP & Static DNS: Leave blank or unticked

GPRS
Profile name: Doesn't matter
Access Point Name (APN): internet
Authorisation type: Normal
User ID: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Protocol: HTTP
Home URL: http://networker.optus.net.au/wap/index.wml
Proxy address: 0.0.0.0:80
If you see Static IP & Static DNS: Leave blank or unticked

Hope this is of some use to others like myself.
EDIT: If this info is already in a better place, please delete this post.
