No Optus Mobile Data connections this morning....

Hi,

Both myself and my sister-in-law have no mobile data connections this morning. We're both on Exetel mobile plans. Is it down for everyone? Seems strange that both out Exetel mobile services drop at the same time in way different Sydney suburbs.

Any ETA on a fix?

So that's a no then is it? Surely others would have reported something by now...

Hi,

We checked with Optus and they confirmed there was an outage today morning but it was restored at about 8.30am today. Please try rebooting mobile, preferably keeping it switched off for about 5 minutes and test the service.

Nope still down, but the Whirlpool thread above indicates that it's still an issue and Optus are aware of it.

I checked this again with Optus they say that they claim that it was resolved earlier this this morning , however they say that the issue has re-occurred since and they are looking in to this at the moment.

It's happening again right now at Sydney Olympic Park.

It could be a congestion issue due to the Big Day Out event, but I suspect not....

Any chance you can ask Optus?

As soon as I left the Syd. Olympic Park area, services returned to normal. Suspect it was the Big Day Out crowd overloading their services.
