I live in MInnamurra NSW and next month the new high speed fibre service will be activated in my area. I am yet to see any info from Exetel regarding new hi speed fibre plans. Does anyone know what is going on, I am still waiting for a reply from Exetel.

If you are referring to the 'NBN2' trials then once 'NBN2' makes the service available in the trial areas Exetel will email its customers in those areas offering them the chance of getting a no charge trial fibre connection.

As there will be a very limited number of ports in each location it will be on a first come/first served basis.

I too am in the Kiama Downs/Minnamurra area. This week I received a letter from Telstra (probs because I still have landline)asking me to register to express my interest for my chance to join in the trial. Whilst I wouldn't go with them anyway, they are offering and I quote:

"if I am chosen to participate in the trial, Telstra will supply the standard equipment and install it in your home free of charge. In return, for my opinion about the installation process."

It also mentions that I will not be under any obligation once the trial is over however it doesn't mention what then happens with the equipment if I decide to not go through with them??????

My question to exetel is
1.Do we get the standard equipment free in addition to the trial fibre connection?
2.Do we continue to pay the monthly charge for our ADSL during the trial period?

It seems like we are getting very close to the NBN trial and I am hoping the connection goes through smoothly

1) Yes you gt a free install of all necessary equipment and labour to provide the NBN connection.

2) Yes, you continue to pay the current ADSL charges while having both services available to you.

At the end of the trial you choose which service you wish to keep.
