500 meters from the node, yet 20% less speed

Post by aussierod » Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:05 pm

Three months ago we switched from ADSL to the NBN 1/12 100GB bandwidth plan.

We were only getting 1/11 on the dot, yet paying 1/12 money.

Needing more bandwidth, we went to upgrade last week, but all the 1/12 plans were scraped, so onto the 20/50 500GB plan.

Now we're on the 20/50 plan and only getting 16/39 (old IP)

We're only 500 meters from the node.

My point? When I complained about paying for a 12 inch subway (so to speak) and only getting 11 inches, we were made to feel like it was our fault .. all those tests I had to do.

The 20/50 upgrade has shown our gear had no fault receiving 1/12 (because it's OK at 16/39) had it been pushed through at that rate.

Is there anyone on the low to mid range plans that ever gets what they are paying for?

We're OK with only getting four-fifths (4/5) of what the 20/50 plan claims, but is Exetel OK with reducing our bill each month by four-fifths (20%) too? Either that or turn the dial up.

Subway now gives the full 12 inches.

That 1/5th never used by us, and others, must add up to some nice over head cream on a cake.

Did I mention we're only 500 meters from the node?

You know that Exetel has no ability to change your NBN FTTN speed right? And that Exetel pays for the set speed from NBN with no means of paying less?
