Re: The Exetel 6-year club

I joined Exetel in March 2004. In that entire time I have never had an issue worth mentioning with the service or the people who run this excellent business.
I have nothing but praise and gratitude for this long standing relationship and am quite bewildered by some of the comments I read, elsewhere.

I wish Exetel all the best in the future and look forward to the continued relationship that has established.

Pioneer Discount.

Just a query, my application was placed prior to March 16th, 2004 as thats when I got the Telstra acknowledgement email, so I'm assuming 1 or 2 days before that was when I submitted my application. This is definitely prior to the 18th March that ForumAdmin indicated was the date of the 1000th application. My first invoice number is prior to # 400.

I have had continuous exetel service since then, but appear not to be receiving the Pioneer Discount being mention. Was there any other requirements to be included into the 'Pioneer Discount' group ?

I have also been using Exetel for 6 years at my various addresses (but not eligible for discount because of discontinuity) and I must say I have a great fondness for my ISP and I have given strongest recommendations to persons under my influence. Always best value compared to the competitors and any problems rectified by support staff.

I've been here since May 2004, but I have to say that the recent constant changes to ADSL1 plans have shaken my faith. I've had to change plans 3 times in as many months to stay ahead, incurring a $10 fee each time (to save $5 as it turns out). Not my idea of rewarding customer loyalty.

I too have been here that long but a change of state and address seem to have lost details from the previous address. I left swiftel when john left and spawned exetel. I must say the service over the years has been excellent, I own my own computer shop and still to this day recomend exetel to people as fast economical broad band. I would have brought atleast 50+ new clients to them over the years.

You would probably be eligible for the pioneer's discount then (even though you've changed address). You might want to email residentialsupport@exetel.com.au about it

wow, seems I migrated from TPG at or around 20/4/2004 based on the usage system...so the paint must have still been fresh in terms of the North Sydney office. It'd be interesting to know what your internal customer number is...ie <1000???

So, thanks to Exetel, the fact I'm still here is a powerful statement and outcome to what I've found to be a good service over the years with I think only one disagreement in that time, which took some effort, but Exetel finally found something I was trying to tell them in terms of advice - as opposed to a "complaint"

I had not thought about the context of pioneer discount, but have just sent an e-mail to enquire about same.

Yep, From viewtopic.php?p=274445#p274445 the first 1,000 signups are "Pioneers" and this corresponds to about a June/July 2004 sign-up date. So it sounds like you are eligible

I became a member in November 2004. Does the pioneer discount continue onto then, or is it now just the first 1000 sign-ups?
