ForumAdmin wrote:We have made a number of changes to the current ADSL1 plans that wil come in to efect in April.

Main changes are:

1) 12 midnight to 12 noon allowance increased to 60 gb

3) 100 free VoIP calls to national/local wire line numbers added to all plans

No current users of these plans need take any action to receive these benefits from April 1st 2009.
I am on one of the old adsl1 plans aswell the TELI(12 gb) plan, do these older plans include these additions?

If yes do I only need to order a VOIP service from the members facilities, and once set-up(I already have voip hardware) it will be good for 100 free calls per month?

Big thumbs up to Exetel for adding more value to the plans!

I'm confused.

So the first $10 of calls to landlines are free, but you must have a $5/month minimum plan to take advantage of this?

Can someone from Exetel pls confirm if these changes apply to the old plans? ie. I'm on TEL H. Especially the part about the 100 free voip calls. Thanks.

All of the latest revisions ONLY apply to the CURRENT plans.

So if we are on TEL I or TEL H we miss out on on the VoIP bonus?

OK thanks for clarifying James. Perhaps Exetel can be more specific when sending these emails out? As I'm sure a lot of people will think they qualify for this, but don't, ie. they'll have to upgrade their plans to get this benefit.

Hi Alex,

It did say current plans, but I guess it could have been clearer.

I'm on TELH so an older plan. I just checked the message again. I beg to differ but it doesn't say for current plans anywhere; the message is titled "REVISIONS TO ADSL1 PLANS" and even finishes up saying that "No current users of these plans need take any action to receive these benefits from April 1st 2009." It's easy to conclude this applies to us otherwise why send it out. A little disapointing to say the least; maybe time to better target your marketing messages as virtually everyone of these of late I haven't been able to use, for example, change ADSL1 to Powertel, ADSL1 to Optus with discounted line rental etc etc.

You will need to change from teh TEL/H, if you wish to take advantage of the included VoIP calls, and higher off peak allowance.

I have ADSL1 & an HSPA $5/mnth plan.

Both logins show the same VOIP account and usage meter.

Will I get?

1. 200 free calls
2. 100 free calls.
3. 200 if I open another VOIP account

Awesome stuff. Might have to ditch my $5/month plan with PT.

edit: O bugga, I think I'm on an old plan anyhow.

The answer is 3.

You will need to log into your HSPA account with the mobile number login and create a new VoIP account.

The email did actually refer to this page
http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_new.php
and at the end (as you say) it said
"No current users of these plans need take any action to receive these benefits from April 1st 2009."
(the emphasis is mine).

However, I agree that it could have been more clearly stated. I imagine that the reason everyone received the email was so you could check out the new plans and opt to change before 1 April if you wanted to. In a lot of cases, a plan change could include other benefits - of course, in other cases, you may feel you are better served by remaining on your current plan. Swings and roundabouts :D
