Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
That's really eating into the peak times of the day... I notice a great reduction in speed during off-peak times, but since i'm in bed and asleep it doesn't affect me.
If it were to move to 2pm, I can imagine that it would be slow most of the day (up to 2pm). I would have suggested 10pm to 10am instead... so that we can have useable speeds while we're all awake.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I would like to know why they want to change it. They have asked for my comments but not given me any information.
I really doubt it would affect me, as I work various different shiftwork hours the times I use the internet vary a lot. I usually use the VOIP mid morning and have no problems as long as I stop any downloads/uploads that my computer is doing.
I know how to schedule so I can set my computer to download anytime of day or night regardless of if I am home or asleep or awake.
So my answer is I don't care, but unless something is broken why change it, so what is the reason for wanting to change it??

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I'm easy so long as we still have access to porn sites which I don't at work
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I said this on the last page, but thought more about it. I am definitely worried about people (mainly schoolkids) who currently set download queues / torrents etc. to start around midnight and switch them off in the morning.... they're much more likely to start the downloading in the morning before school & just turn it off when they get home around 3pm - 4:30pm.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I'm a Hardcore gamer and I usually play past the 12 midnight mark and nearly everytime without fail, Exetel drops my connection, and my adsl light has to re-sync, so I wouldn't mind a 2am switchover. I can always schedule my downloads for 2am start instead of 12
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
Make it so !
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
Thinking the same, I dont care if it changes to 2am -2pm as if i do download anything on my offpeak its always scheduled late afternoon to go at 12am.cher wrote:So my answer is I don't care, but unless something is broken why change it, so what is the reason for wanting to change it??
Would like to know why its been brought up only change i see happening is the slow down from 12am will be shifted to 2am.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I much prefer the existing offpeak period of 12-12.
I'm usually awake past midnight browsing and use the time to watch HD video from the likes of youtube and vimeo. With the relatively low plan I'm on these sort of sites can make a big impact on my peak-time quota.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
Disagree. There is no differentiation with other providers if you change to 2am.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
no thanks keep it at 12 to 12.
One of the reasons I chose Exetel was for this very reason.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
The time would not suit me so I would prefer it not to change
*edit: Someone mentioned a change from 10pm-10am rather from 2-2, this would make more sense for me.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I'm in favour of this idea, as long as we maintain the 12hrs off peak quota (ie: no reducing the amount of time).
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
This sounds fine by me. I work from home & this would mean better access to offpeak rates.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I'd prefer things stay as they are, i like having the offpeak start at 10pm WA time.
Edit - forgot about daylight savings..
