Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
This would work better as a poll.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
If this thread matters at all then I vote NO! Leave it alone.
If it were changed does anyone know how I could add a delay before my pier-to-pier starts downloading? I'm not a person who stays up late even with the advantage of being in WA I have to kick things off for the night after 10pm.
Thanks for any feedback.

I am also in favour as quite often I am gaming until 2.00am so the change will help alleviate congestion at midnight.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
The proposed time of 12midnight - 12 noon works for me, being it on.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I prefer it the way it is now. I'm in WA and the current times are EST, so it's effectively 10pm - 10am for me. The 10pm start to off-peak is good because it means I can start downloading large files just before going to bed. Although I could work around it using a download scheduler if necessary.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
yes i would like it to be 2-2.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
Leave it as it is. 12am - 12pm is a good time. This is also one of the greater factors to why I signed up with Exetel. 2am is too late for the off-peak to start.
Please leave it as is.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I vote no - if I wanted any change at all - would prefer it changed to 11pm - 11am or 10pm - 10am - my reasons have nothing to do with large downloads etc - anyone who's serious about that won't care much about off peak times because they can use d/l schedulers.
I'm a night owl - I don't do mornings well - it's biological for me, not simply a matter of choice - I've always been nocturnal. I do most of my work at night - and use a lot of high media content in the course of my work, not to mention lots of streaming media.
Most media's don't use a LOT of d/l - but it does eat into your peak period usage.
I understand the need for peak vs. off-peak and have no problem with lower usage during my peak time, but it'd be nice to at least be able to split my usage up between the two, instead of being forced to mostly use my peak time.
Midnight to 12pm suites me quite well for this reason.
The proposed change would give me all of 1/2 hr to an hour of off peak usage.... yay, whoopty doo... and I think this would be the case for most users - again downloaders don't count because they can just set their downloaders with a scheduler.
The current peak times appear to have been a major deciding factor for many Exetel customers; it wasn't THE factor for me, but it was certainly high on the list!

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
i support 12am - 12pm ! or even earlier...
2am -2 pm is not beneficial for all people, off peak download should start at 12am !!!!!!!
what my thinking is people who support 2am - 2pm is still awake at 12am-12pm , people who do not support 2am-2pm should have sleep by 2am.
which means 12am or 2am does not affect those people who support 2am-2pm but will greatly affects 12am-12pm peoples!!!
Please think before you make changes. You will lose your customers or money.

Please leave it as it is, cheers.
Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
As I live in WA it's effectively 10 pm - 10 am currently (due to the two hour time zone difference) so for me it would become 12 - 12. Either way is fine for me.
I guess on my days off I would get better use of my off peak quota in the mornings if the timings were changed.

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period
I think it's a good idea. Well at least it'll be beneficial for me for a rare reason. I have an NBA Broadband account and a lot of my peak usage is being used on it because I watch the games live. The games are usually on from 11am until about 5pm but mostly between 12pm and 2pm (previous day's evening in the US). You can see where this is going. I'll be a winner if 12-2 becomes off-peak.
Obviously if this is going to create some savings for Exetel, it would be good if some of the savings could be passed on to users in the form of increased peak downloads. Exetel has been great in passing on the fair share of savings to it's customers so I'm sure they will again, if there are any savings of course.
