I would vote affirmatively for shifting the time window

We want gamers & web streams' to maintain their relationship with the network during the early hours of a morning' usage.& schoolfolk won't find a difference in starting their Myface and Tubular applications in the late afternoon /evening as is normal for them.

Therefore I consider a warm gesture from the ForumAdmin; a symbol of our prosperity moving forward. Who knows what the future may bring, <flashing speeds>... So yeah I count it as goodwill; and for that reason, it is meaningful.

2 - 2 sounds fine (it'll take it to 12 - 12 for me in WA)

A definate yes vote for me... The midnight slowdown is a real pain and downloaders can always schedule...

I have a suggestion:
for the time being, there are two quotas, peak and off-peak. I suggest to convert the off-peak to peak, and may convert peak to off-peak.
Say, I have 54G off peak, it may be converted to 54x30%=16.2G peak quota. I feel it will also give people some flexibility. I hope that Exetel
can have some details.

I also would be in favour of this change.

Is there any suggested timeframe as to when this would be implemented??

This seems to be almost a unanimous yes vote!!

i have most major downloads on a scheduler, so it wont matter much in that instance, but i usually do use the internet around midnight and it does lagg quite a bit. If the times were to change i think a better option would be to change off-peek time to 10pm to 12pm, so people get the best of both worlds at a resonable time. Streamers wont have to worry about going over on-peek limits and gamers wont have to wait till 12am. But as mentioned previously the ideal solution would be to give people the choice of off/on peek times. People use the internet for different things and have differnt work schedules so having a choice of off/on peek times would be the best way to suit all users in every instance.

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with the time shift, since one of the reason I choose exetel is because the off-peak hour, Which why I recommend exetel to my friends.
Since, I'm working from 9 am - 5 pm on weekdays which mean the time shift is not benefit for me.

Conclusion: Really against it

Cheers,

-Joel-

I prefer it stays the way it is, or even start earlier at night. I stay up to start a download, I'd like to get to bed earlier not later.
I also joined exetel cause I saw how good the off and on peak times were. THanks.

I think perhaps to allow users to select their own off-peak time within a select number of times,
For example....
Option 1 11pm - 11am
Option 2 12am - 12pm
Option 3 1am - 1pm
Option 4 2am - 2pm

Thus allowing more flexibilty that's better suited to individual clients.

This may also allow a staggering effect to prevent or reduce the 'mid-night express' effect that would only move to 2am should you keep that idea.

Choice is why I chose exetel in the first place, and a better choice is what you offered then, and to some point, still do now. Since your plan change to penalize new ADSL1 customers that are unable to get ADSL2, perhaps providing a little more of that good choice that we all expect from exetel... It may go a long way.

I myself get home from work at 1am, so I would probably choose the 1am to 1pm off-peak period. My on-peak time rarely fills beyond half of the allowed 54gb allowance.

Thinking about that, Nobody else offers a choice quite like this....

Ultimately your going to do what you want to anyway....

Good idea. Stop the stroke-of-midnight slowdown (the Cinderella syndrome) for us non-downloading surfers.
