New ADSL1 Plans
Exetel continues to achieve lower costs in operating its business in several different ways – and we have always been a very, very efficient provider meeting or exceeding world’s best standards in most things we do.
Exetel continues to adhere to its three founding principals which have meant that as we achieve lower operating costs we do not retain those benefits for shareholder dividends but that we pass on the cost savings to our end users and to increasing the money we donate to attempt to save Australian flora, fauna and avia from extinction.
We have recently modified the current ADSL1 plans (in line with the modifications we made to the ADSL2 plans earlier this week) and these revisions include lower costs and larger downloads as well as reduced excess usage charges. Full details can be found on the web site or your user facilities.
We have also begun the belated ‘Spring cleaning’ of some of the older non-current plans and we have moved some 10,000 current users to more recent plans. As far as we could see when very carefully carrying out this exercise NO individual user has been disadvantaged – all moves either gave more downloads for the same price or the same downloads for a slightly lower price. Please check the user facilities to see if these changes have affected you....bearing in mind that the changes only affected around 5% of users.

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
So the old TL-Cx 8Mbps plans have gone and now we have to go to the NF/8192 plans?
The excess charges are better at 0.50 per GB but there is no inclusions on the NF plans like 100 free VoIP calls?

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
For the 1.5KB Heavy User Plans:
$0.50 GB excess makes the TL-C2 $55 plan the cheapest (except for the unlimited which is better value once you hit the 206GB peak mark).
The rest of the plans are more expensive for the same amount of data..

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
We seem to have lost all the decent 8M/384k plans...
Currently I have 60G + 54G but I don't see anything similar on the new list!
Any chance you could advise people what plan they are on, and what plan they will be moved to, and when this will be made effective, etc...
Regards,
Adam

TL-C3 $0.00 $65.00 50 gbytes No Charge $0.50
Brilliant revision. Outstanding value.. . a pioneer obviously abreast of competitive standards. The tables make better sense now (most of) the metering line up across ADSL1, 50cents a gigabyte.
The 5 gigs extra I will gain on C3 (once I change values) is a fair exchange for the /bloat-become-an-option I will trade off; which now properly reflect the value of my prepaid ADSL1 than pointing me to a bundle (- yuck) .
At 50cents a gigabyte/25c an hour@1.5Mbit / *zero* cents for uploads - I no longer care about shaping with these rates close to cost ..
Congratulations, well done

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
Very good changes, well done Exetel. Just a few things...
- The plan inclusions list has been removed from the ADSL1 plan pages.
- To properly compete with Internode's no limit 1500 plan should you extend the no limit into offpeak on Exetel's competing plan?
- And, as stated by someone else earlier, TL-C2 plus excess is cheaper than TL-C3, TL-C4 and TL-C5; TL-C3 plus excess is cheaper than TL-C4 and TL-C5; and TL-C4 plus excess is cheaper than TL-C5. No one should pick C3, C4 and C5.

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
My parents were on the TL-AA plan, and without any advance warning or consultation, Exetel has taken away their included VOIP calls and SMSes by moving them to the TL-B plan.
Doesn't seem like good business practice to me.

Re: New ADSL1 Plans

I can't find a record of a TL-AA plan - are you sure about the plan name? What speed and monthly cost was it?novakreo wrote:My parents were on the TL-AA plan, and without any advance warning or consultation, Exetel has taken away their included VOIP calls and SMSes by moving them to the TL-B plan.

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
TL-AA was a $35 512/128 plan with 6GB peak and no charge offpeak. TL-B replaces it with 12GB peak and no charge offpeak at the same price, but the plan inclusions of the old plans (free sms, 100 VoIP calls, etc) aren't stated anywhere.Gidget wrote:I can't find a record of a TL-AA plan - are you sure about the plan name? Re: New ADSL1 Plans
Thanks for that Col. I'll bring it to Exetel's attention.

Re: New ADSL1 Plans
Have the new plans lost the free sms, voip calls & email to fax? I'm currently on TL-BB and these are of more value to me than the extra 6gb of peak download for TL-C2.
Re: New ADSL1 Plans
I'm on the TL-BC plan, if I change to the TL-C3 plan will I lose my 100 free VOIP calls and my free SMS's?
