Doesn't seem like good business practice to me.
We not only changed your plan to TL-B, but also moved your VOIP calls and SMSes for you. All previous customers like you, who have a VOIP and use SMS, will still be same as before.

If Exetel migrated you (as part of the 5% of customers mentioned) to a different plan then you will take any freebies with you from your old plan.

If you elect yourself to change plans, then you get whatever plan inclusions (or lack of inclusions) the new plan has. As always, you need to weigh up the pros and cons of changing plans.

As mentioned earlier, with current prices TL-C2 is $3 cheaper for you if you download the 50GB. If you don't download the max, potentially even cheaper.

On current prices there is no reason for anybody to choose TL-C3, TL-C4 or TL-C5

I can find no mention anywhere of whether the TL-C3 plan includes the 100 free voip calls or not, so my question remains the same, if I choose to change to the TL-C3 plan will I lose them?

Noting the disclaimer at the top of the forum pages, can I get this in writing?

What has happened to all the 8Mb plans? I can't see any listed.

Oh well, I'll be staying put then, the free voip is too good to lose!
Why have Exetel removed them from plans? cost?

Cost Matrix for updated ADSL1/ADSL2 Plans

Post by Ravenous » Sat Dec 12, 2009 1:11 pm

Cost matrix attached. I hope it helps to make informed decisions.

Image

Notes:
- Assumed cheapest allowable Telstra Homeline Plans where relevant.
- Off peak assumed free and of Zero Value

EDIT
Updated to reflect some tweaking

- TL-C2 36 GB is cheapest @ 36 GB to 206 GB for the 1500/256 plans (makes higher teir plans lesser value and pointless)

EDIT
Quick fix is to have a $0.75 /GB excess charge for Heavy User plans.
The only plan I would consider changing to is the TL-C4, but it isn't available in the members area to change to!

Can we have confirmation on what 'frills' we lose with the new plans? I know we lose the free VOIP calls, but do we lose everything else as well?

The only inclusions in the new plans are:

1) Fixed IP
2) 30 email accounts
3) 200 MB of web space

I don't really need the webspace or email addresses. I do sometimes use the faxes and SMS but since this new plan is $10 cheaper for me, I save anyway.
