The routing change was done today to see if its resolve the issue.
Can you check the internet connectivity of the device that you are using for VOIP is steady and have enough bandwidth.
I dont find any reason for failing calls from our side.

I suspect it may cause by codec settings in MOIP App, you may try different codecs and see.
also make a ping test to 58.96.1.2 and see what the latency is ?
Hi pasanm,

What Nokia app (for E63), or mobile enabled website will enable me to:

a) get bandwidth for Exetel Internet,
b) do a ping test to specific IP?

Otherwise Google search comes up ok, and so do other sites.

I assume you mean using the mobile phone using Exetel Internet over Exetel 3G, as I am having no problems with VOIP through my PC through my other ADSL provider.

The codecs are:

1) G729,
2) AMR,
3) iLBC.

in that order. The other codecs have been removed.

All in default settings, as the instructions provided by Exetel did not state otherwise?

Thanks.

HI

we can't compare website loading versus VOIP over 3G.

VOIP is real time traffic and need steady network connections and enough bandwidth, If you are having trouble with your exetel 3G service I suggest to log a fault with support
There's no problem with your voip service according to the testing.

Ok, sorry. I thought we were troubleshooting MOIP VOIP over Exetel Wireless Internet over 3G, not Exetel VOIP, nor Exetel Internet, nor Exetel VOIP over another ADSL provider.

I am not having problems with any of those except using VOIP with the MOIP app.

Here is the ping test to the previously provided IP address, 58.96.1.2

Pinging 58.96.1.2 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 58.96.1.2: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=56
Reply from 58.96.1.2: bytes=32 time=22ms TTL=56
Reply from 58.96.1.2: bytes=32 time=21ms TTL=56
Reply from 58.96.1.2: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=56
Ping statistics for 58.96.1.2:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 21ms, Maximum = 23ms, Average = 22ms

As you can see, no problems.

Additionally VOIP calls using my Exetel VOIP account over another ADSL providers internet are non-problematic.

So can Exetel provide support for it's MOIP app over Nokia e63, and if it can, will it provide that support?

Secondly, I am mildly annoyed that after all this while you suggest I open up a new support ticket with another Exetel department, and presumably start all over again with the story, when you as Exetel staff could do that from your end and make it seamless for me. No? And give them the full story, instead of this dragging on another month or two.

Ok, I will take time off my schedule tomorrow and call Exetel 3G and open up a new ticket. But I am not happy about this.

I have asked a support engineer to look in to this for you from where the current investigation is at.

We will keep you informed.

We have already escalated the issue with our development team. We will follow up the matter an update the thread once further information is available.
