blocking suspected

Hi,

I can't connect/ping to 50.16.54.32 from inside exetel. :-(
I have no problem outside exetel.
Could someone please ping 50.16.54.32 and let me know the result. Thanks.
It seems like something is blocking 50.16.0.0/16 (No, it's not my firewall)

I can't get past Exetel either. ec2-50-16-54-32.compute-1.amazonaws.com (dig lookup). Elastic cloud server. Could be.

Thanks, Dazzled.
Yes, it is one of my cloud servers. And I can connect to it from anywhere I tried except from inside Exetel.
So far I have no luck connecting from Exetel to any IP of the subnet 50.16.0.0/16.
Could someone at Exetel please have a look at the problem. Thanks.

If it hasn't been used for anything anti-social (plenty have been), I would think you'd get a quicker staff response by emailing residentialsupport@exetel.com.au, or a PM to SysAdmin. Security issues are best kept private.

No, Dazzled, no such thing from me. There are still "good guys" on the Internet doing good things, just like in the real life. :-)

I didn't mean that you're the fellow in black! But these are a spammer's and phisher's dream, and frequently draw attention to their IPs. Good luck with the issue.

Thanks, again, Dazzled,

I followed your advice (emailing, that is) and I got very friendly and professional support.
My problem is now solved :-)

I'm impressed with the support team Exetel has now.
It wasn't like that the last time I tried (It must've been more than five years ago,
on a trivial problem).

I should give them more troubles to solve from now on then ;-) (The management
there won't read this thread, will they?)
