HSPA Connection Issues

Post by stubbers » Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:27 pm

Hey all,
After my first couple of weeks of using Exetel's HSPA service, I'm overly pretty happy. However although the first week or so was very promising I've now run into some connection reliability issues. I'm currently stationary, on the third floor of a building, and have FULL signal. However, occasionally the connection appears to drop. Vista reports that it's got local only access, I have no connectivity, cannot ping anything. Out of 333 packets to google.com I lost 14% in the last minute or so.

If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated.

If you need more details just let me know and I'd be happy to send them.

Cheers,
Joseph

Have you tried using a different modem USB port and seeing if there might be the same issue using another port?

Also have you tried cleaning the SIM card and re-inserting it?

Hi,

I have similar issues, with the service, have assumed it to be related to my rather old n95 or an optus coverage issue moving between different tower coverage areas (possibly made worse by the n95 only doing hspda over 2100MHz).

Which access device do you use?
