Hi

Have a new wireless modem. Installed the modem, activated the service and entered the Exetel Profile. (This is the 4th time I have set up, however first with the E160E).

When I press the connect button I get the message that says "You can't connect before register an available network". I get no signal strength down the bottom. I have received the activation sms.

Anybody know whats going on?

G'day :)

It sounds like you have no coverage where you are.

If you only just activated, you might need to unplug and replug the modem.

Do you know if you get Optus mobile coverage where you are?

Also, you could try a long USB extension or an antenna on the modem. USB extensions up to 5 metres work on the E169, 3 metres on the E160.

Hi

Have full coverage and an modem aerial. Tried a E169 in it and it ran fine (after it replaced the software). He has Windows 7, after installing and reinstalling then trying different usb ports, it worked. Downloaded some software at 250k+, but it was stopping for several minutes before going back to 250k+

I haven't been back to see if it is still working, will go back in the next couple of days. No phone calls are good I guess.
