Can't connect to outside Exetel's network

Hi,

Got an Exetel (Optus) HSPA sim in my Nokia E55 Symbian 3.2 phone, connected by bluetooth and blueman/network-manager to my xubuntu laptop. Haven't tried it for a few weeks, but on the bus this morning I find I can't get outside Exetel's network on it. e.g.

But I cannot connect to anything outside of Exetel sites. DNS lookups work fine of course. The most confusing thing is that browsing on the phone itself works fine, however being a user friendly POS it's impossibile afaik to get its current network configurations to see what's going on... ideas?

Needless to say the laptop works fine via wifi to Monash Clayton and my own Exetel ADSL2 service.
