Exetel Mobile Broadband and incoming calls/sms

Post by MJH » Mon Dec 30, 2013 1:00 pm

Hi Exetel,
I am looking at the Exetel Residential 3G Mobile Broadband Services http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-hs ... p#standard and see that outbound calls/sms are blocked from these servers, though are you still able to receive incoming calls and sms's if you use this sim in a mobile handset. Can you also confirm if emergency calls are still allowed outgoing to 000.

Do Exetel still offer the MOIP Application which I believe not as most references from the web site have been removed apart from a couple.

Thanks,
Michael.

Hi Michael,

Yes these services come with calls and text messages blocked and thus you are unable to make any outgoing calls including emergency services such as 000.

Exetel currently does not offer MOIP application and as you have been advised in the other posts you have made the issue has been raised to our developers.

Cheers!

Hi Angelos,

So when you say blocked can you confirm that means incoming calls/sms as well?

James posted that MOIP is still available for iphone? viewtopic.php?f=303&t=13184&start=540#p307506

Thanks,
Michael

One of the nicest VoiP softphones I have used is Linphone (open source and free). There is a version for Iphone.

Sorry that I can't give a review on the Iphone platform, but it's been great on Linux and Android devices for me.
