can someone please help with d-link dva-g3340s voip settings

The voip quality on the router is barely usable and i was wondering if anyone knows of good voip and qos settings to get the best sound quality. Any help is appreciated

What is your voip setup? Are you using an ATA or VOIP softphone?

Ive always found better results when using an ATA.

its an ata viop modem with wireless and wired router. Im just really unsure of what settings i'm supposed to use for the voip and qos

Check out the manual here, on Page 69 for QOS settings.

For voip try settings of
DTMF= RFC2833
Payload type 96
Session expires = 240

Codec setting (for best quality, use)
G711a (if you have enough bandwidth)

Also for VoIP its recommended that you have at least 128 upload speed for G.729
If you have 256 or higher upload speed then choose G.711A

Also as a note - Do not do P2P while using VoIP, its complicated the reason why, just simply put it will just cause issues with your VoIP quality.

G729 will give you great, whilst using alot less bandwidth that G711.

My suggestion would be to try both, see what works best for you.
