Plan R

Post by glenn929 » Sat Dec 22, 2007 1:06 pm

Hi all,

Before I go down the path of trying to find why I can't call my VOIP number I would just like to verify a few things.

Plan R: This doesn't come with a DID so does this mean you are unable to call the VOIP?

My VOIP No. is 0933xxxx but if you ring this number I get a number is not connected or something along those lines.

Now the number that is display when I call someone is 0280036300 the same number that "Stickler gets in previous post" and if you call this number it goes straight to a message bank.

Afternoon glenn929,

This is correct. The VoIP will only be utilised for outgoing calls.
My VOIP No. is 0933xxxx but if you ring this number I get a number is not connected or something along those lines.
The 0933xxxx is your account number, not your VoIP number AFAIK.
Now the number that is display when I call someone is 0280036300 the same number that "Stickler gets in previous post" and if you call this number it goes straight to a message bank.
We have VoIP Plan R in our family, and have not seen this happen. If you do not have a DID, it should display private number.

I actually believe that the 09 number can only be used by other Exetel users to call you. Otherwise, without a DID number. outgoing calls will be made via VOIP, and incoming will come through your normal PSTN service.
