How to intercept calls when B party leaving message.

Post by VoIP Admin » Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:54 am

a/ When I pick up the phone (while the other party is leaving a message) to talk to them, I can hear them,
but they can't hear me! I must hang up and call back. Can this be fixed?
I use a Panasonic KX-TG5839ALS phone, and while a caller is leaving a message I do the following;

1. Press Talk to answer (at this point I can hear them, but they can't hear me)
2. On my screen I see displayed "Recall" (this will access the dial tone or call waiting service)
and there's an arrow pointing to a function button. Press this once to hear a dial tone
3. Press same button again to come back to caller. Now they can hear me properly!

Perhaps other phones have a similar function button.

This info was contributed by David Kovacevic. Thank you.

You should point out that this only applies to the built in answering machine on the Panasonic KX-TG5839ALS.

It does not help any voip users that have just missed a call and exetel voip voicemail has accepted the call.
