Incoming voice chopped up on mobile calls

Post by mattnica » Sun Apr 05, 2009 5:11 pm

I have a D-link DVA-G3670B. Voip calls to landlines are fine albeit with a short delay before I can hear the person on the other end. When I call any mobile phone the incoming voice is chopped up or stutters. I have attached a link to the voip config page of my router. Can anyone help? I have tried the G.729 codec on 20 and 40ms, and both of the G.711 codecs. Nothing seems to have any effect. I am on a 1500/256 ADSL 1 plan. I can't understand why the landline calls are fine but not mobiles?

Thanks,
Matt

As an aside, while they look into the mobile problem, could this "delay" error be fixed by using 58.96.1.2 instead of sip1.exetel.com.au as your SIP server (and any other places, registrar/proxy etc) or do you already use the IP address?
