Foxtel Return path using Voip
Foxtel Return path using Voip
Hi,
As the numbers increase and as our homes become more and more 'connected' can Exetel please enable access to allow 0198 numbers to be called.
This number is a the cost of a local call and is used as the return path for Foxtel users to order Box Office movies. A number of other ISPs have enable access to this.
The numbers dialled is 0198 308 and 021 0198 308 025, but basically if you can set it up to accept 0198 XXX XXXX then it should be fine.
Thanks

They are Tel$tra numbers, so it would depend if Tel$tra make the numbers available to other providers so they can be charged the same. I wouldn't be in the least bit suprised if they want rip non-Tel$tra customers off to call these numbers.
The views I present are that of my own and NOT of any organisation I may belong to.

quite likely they would but to a Foxtel user they would probably be happy to pay a premium to call this number anywayvk3xem wrote:They are Tel$tra numbers, so it would depend if Tel$tra make the numbers available to other providers so they can be charged the same. Re: Foxtel Return path using Voip
Foxtel simply should have made it a 13 number, to keep it simple, but that would have been too easy.
Never the less, 20c or 30c max to call that number.

Re: Foxtel Return path using Voip
0198 numbers are only charged at a local call rate through Tel$tra, so I don't see any issue with keeping my return path with my land line... while you might not want to, I guess you gotta give Tel$tra some kind of income, other than your line rental!
Just thinking of the issue, what happens to those with Foxtel and Naked ADSL? No Box Office at all?

That was a bonus for me when I went Naked. No Box Office = less cash spent!JamesR wrote: Just thinking of the issue, what happens to those with Foxtel and Naked ADSL? No Box Office at all?

Re: Foxtel Return path using Voip
iQ and iQ2 can now order box office over the phone, without the need for a return path dial-up connection:
