Townsville DID

Post by sedaai » Mon Oct 12, 2009 12:45 pm

Morning/Afternoon,

Is it possible to order a DID from a geographical area which doesn't exist in the user facitilies?

In lieu of your provider halting your ability to transfer PSTN numbers across to VoIP I have need of local (Townsville) DID. Is this something Exetel are able to organise (I would prefer to keep my business with the one company) or is it easier to organise something through an alternative provider?

Thanks in advance.

There are no Exetel Townsville DIDs, but if you do not have a naked ADSL2 service it doesn't matter - inward calls on your present local line, outward calls that you pay for on VoIP. There is no functional difference where the DID is nominally located, as VoIP is located at the server, not at an exchange down the road. If you want a second inward line that local callers will get local charges on, you might have to go to Mynetfone, for example

I have a Naked DSL service thus the reason for the DID.

Thanks for checking though, i'll organise an alternative such as you suggested.
