Tamworth probably for me - more likely for the Armidale agents (Armidale Computers, Armidale Broadband) I don't know if there is a Tamworth agent.
If you get Armidale ones I'd have demand for sure.

Unfortunately, Armidale is not possible.
Interesting Wangaratta is possible but only 26K population.
Any others for Wangaratta?

Tamworth number would be wonderful for me.
As far as I know there is an agent here in Tamworth. I think it is David Lane Computer services who I used to know reasonably well when he was working as a TV tech before he went out working for himself.
If not, I have also been thinking of approaching Exetel in order that I might be able to sell a few mainly HSDPA connections which I would be linking via router to drive remote access to CCTV systems which I install here & there. ( I am still thinking about this 1 though atm, but localised voip numbers also attached would certainly make for a good sales point.

I would be interested in DID'S for the Sunshine Coast!!!1
Re: Regional VoIP DID's
With no Exetel ADSL2 in Armidale and some of the other places, what is the attraction of a local DID? Everyone has a PSTN number for locals to call. Is it just local suspicion of Sydney and Newcastle?

Re: Regional VoIP DID's
Here's some exmples:
1 - being able to drop the fax line
2 - not confusing customers when you magically ring them from Sydney
3 - HSPA VoIP (to get rid of the landline.)
4 - the ability to provision extra lines on demand for businesses and forward busy PSTN calls to a DID without paying STD diversion rates
5 - the ability to divert your local VoIP Landline number to a mobile - something I would readily do with VoIP but is not feasible with Telstra PSTN unless using a suitable forwarding ATA.
6 - In dual PSTN line households (ie partner has his/her own number) the ability to drop one line for VoIP
7 - Home businesses can have a 'business' number without adding a PSTN.

Re: Regional VoIP DID's
Being in Launceston I'd prefer my DID was here, but it being a Melbourne number doesn't make any real difference, VOIP works just as well no matter where the DID is...
Re: Regional VoIP DID's
As long as I can have VoIP masked with my ADSL1, Exetel HSPA or Exetel mobile phone number, I don't really see a need to have regional DiDs!
The views I present are that of my own and NOT of any organisation I may belong to.

Cr@p! Why didn't I ever think of that! Does that work? .. or was it killed by the reaction to ACA?

Re: Regional VoIP DID's
I currently have my HSPA number masking my VoIP on my mobile. It was available for a short time earlier in the year but was removed because of Verzion imposing US law on us.
I am hoping it will be allowed just for Exetel registered numbers, rather than open slather.
