Hi Gidget and folks,,
My initial confusion was that I was charged $15 more than the initial desired deal of BYOP of $25 p.m.
My only offered setup in CAloundra (4551) was $40 ($15 more) and as I was now on a naked dsl- was that a $15 charge for a voip plan?
In signing up for voip - there was an offer of free or $15. I wasn't sure whether I was already paying it. (I mistakenly thought voip was "free" )
As for the comment about automatically provisioning it - they don't.
I found out "accidentally" with my continual queries that you have to manually install it ( no advice re this early anywhere).
It still doesn't work.
VOIP status shows as "unknown".
EXETEL sent info to put "sip1.exetel.com.au" in:
ADV/voip/sipaccounts/SipRegister Server
CAn't find it anywhere - only option is to select a pre-configured provider under "voip wizard" no way to enter anything or add another provider I can see in my Billion ......

Cheers,
Himagain.

You can have one of two VOIP plan options for use with your Naked service
(as described further here)
http://www.exetel.com.au/voip_planA.php
Code: Select all
Plans Min Charge Landlines Mobiles 13, 1300 no's FFall Billing Incrmnt
Post VoIP 0 $0.00 $0.10 per call $0.22 per minute $0.30 per call $0.00 Per second
Post VoIP 15 $15.00 $0.09 per call $0.12 per minute $0.30 per call $0.06 Per 30 secs
i.e. you should choose the plan that best suits your needs - if you choose Post VOIP 0 you don't have to pay a monthly minimum charge, but calls are a bit more expensive.
At the moment, you do not yet have a VOIP service but I see that your Naked service was only completed today. Exetel used to provide the VOIP service add-on automatically for a Naked service - I'm not sure how it works now. Perhaps Jason might drop by and elaborate on this, or someone with a recently-provisioned Naked service might let you know what happens.
