I just added a second SPA3000 and need some advice please

Post by pauld » Tue Dec 01, 2009 8:38 am

Hi all,
I added a second Sipura/Linksys SPA3000 to my network.
My first 3000 has worked well for many years.
I have ordered and received the new DID from Exetel.
I have set up the second 3000 to have all the same settings except for the phone number and password and a different fixed IP (of course).
I have selected port 5063 to not conflict with 5060 on original 3000 (and port forwarded that on my router)
I can accept and receive calls on the new 3000 using my mobile phone, and all seems to work correctly.

HOWEVER; If I phone out on my original 3000 to my new 3000 ringing happens but no voice in either direction. (I don't really need to do this) but I am wondering if this is related to my port forwarding udp range 16384 - 16482 to the original 3000 only?
How should I fix this? don't port forward 16384 - 16482 to either 3000 and let them sort it out? or port forward half the range to each?

All thoughts gratefully accepted!
Paul

Thanks,
I'm assuming that you mean I need to NOT nat my ports?
I will say however, that it DOES seem to be working using that port!

The Exetel VoIP server is listening on port 5060, the replies are sent in reply - this works around NAT.
