My Number not appearing
I use a Linksys PAP2T ATA connected to a Dynalink RTA1025W modem/router. My voip calls work just fine but people I call tell me that my voip number no longer appears on their caller id at the other end. I have entered my voip number into the ATA where it says Display Name, User ID, Use ID Auth and Auth Id. I do not know where else I can go to make my voip number visible at the other end. People say it says private number.
Is there anywhere else I can go in my ATA to make my voip number display at the receiver's end?

Thanks Dazzled. My phone is configured to allow caller id. I am beginning to wonder whether it is the other persons setup that is the problem - not mine. They also have a voip phone with iinet. When I call my mobile number it correctly says that it is my home number calling.

Now I am beginning to wonder if it is an exetel issue. I have another phone connected to my pap2t which works through pennytel - it is my backup phone. The pennytel call displayed my voip number perfectly to the recipient that could not see my number when I used my exetel phone. Why would pennytel work yet exetel not?

I too have the same problem. My Voip caller ID is not showing when I ring a PSTN number. It was working a few days ago. I checked the settings in my account page, and it hasn't changed (Caller ID is enabled). My Pennytel account shows the caller ID no problems. So it seems something has changed on the Exetel system.

It appears to be a problem with Exetel’s supplier... VoIP to VoIP & PSTN to VoIP CND works but not VoIP to PSTN

This first started happening on the 12th of November when Exetel switched back to the old SIP server config. See me reporting the issue here:

same here, not showing on calls to mobiles or other voip networks. i dont have caller I.D. on my pstn so cant comment on that side of things.Igortsky wrote:I too have the same problem.

CallerID is working to mobiles but not to landlines for at least some of my customers. One is whinging profusely since her family won't answer private calls.

This is an odd problem.
We know calls to mobiles are not affected. It is only calls to landlines.
It may be supplier routing specific.
We will test this through our different supplier routes in an effort to determine this.
If all fail, it will be an Exetel config issue.
