Other side can't hear
Other side can't hear
Hi,
On voip calls the other side can't hear, me calling them or vice versa.
This started in the late afternoon. Several others report the same problem on WP forum also this afternoon/evening.
I lodged a ticket. Just wanted to let folks know in case you experience this too.

Re: Other side can't hear
Mine is still persisting.
I called Exetel support earlier in the afternoon and it was fine (on the second go).
They told me to try the soft phone, which I did tonight when I got back, but its the same problem.
I'm on naked with an ATA box hooked up to my existing cordless phones.
ATA:
Can make calls, but can't hear other people, and they can't hear me (they can still pick up tho, and annoyingly I still get charged)
Can't receive calls (people can't dial in- no engaged tone).
Soft Phone (X-Lite)
Can make calls, can hear other people, but they can't hear me.

This has been going on for the last 2 days now, with nothing having changed hardware/config wise from my side. Lodging a ticket now.
Very annoying, when this is my DID and my only form of communication on Naked DSL. I've had naked for about 3 months now and the problem is only occuring now.

Re: Other side can't hear
I have one customer with the same problem at the moment, but he's coming in via TPG which could be complicating the issue. Open 824RLW / Billion 7404VGP equivalent.
Re: Other side can't hear
Working now. Thanx.
Re: Other side can't hear
We're still having this issue. It's a big problem for us because all our outgoing calls go via Exetel VoIP.
I'll lodge a support ticket.

Re: Other side can't hear
Probably a good idea to get a backup SIP account with another provider such as https://www.mynetfone.com.au/whirlpool/VoIP/Plans or http://www.pennytel.com.au/ as no VoIP service is infallable.
Re: Other side can't hear
Mines still not working. But told Exetel Engineers are looking into it if anyone is newly reading this tread and having problems.

Can you receive incoming calls with these options? I had the impression that my DID is attached to my Exetel voip account.MCCMikey wrote:Probably a good idea to get a backup SIP account with another provider such as https://www.mynetfone.com.au/whirlpool/VoIP/Plans or http://www.pennytel.com.au/ as no VoIP service is infallable.
Can you change to a different VOIP provider if you're on naked dsl with Exetel?

Re: Other side can't hear
I can confirm that its working again tonight:)
Thanks for the prompt response.
Maybe send an email out though in the future to VOIP (esp. naked DSL) customers? I know that a lot of people probably don't check the forums and could have made alternative arrangements if they knew.

Re: Other side can't hear
I am experiencing this problem still with our two VoIP services. A reset of the ATA seems to sort the issue out for a while ( 3 -4 hours ), but it is getting increasingly frustrating.
I will log another support call, although they must be getting sick of hearing from me.
