Keeping VOIP service when leaving exetel ?

Post by GoDees » Wed May 12, 2010 10:17 am

I plan to change address and change ISP next month.
I currently have a Naked ADSL2 plan with VOIP DID that I'd like to keep if possible. I am very happy with Exetel's VOIP service.

Is it possible at all ?

Righton. Care to share how it's possible (costs, procedure, etc...)

I would like to keep my voip number (provided i can get it to work consistently!)

Email correspondance from Nisansala Alahakoon stated that:

1. You need to pay for any monthly VOIP Access charges. For example, the first would be free (if it's a complimentary VOIP number) & subsequent would be the usual $5 fee.
2. You need to pay for calls made.

So it's much the same as it is now.

Procedure is, when you apply to leave Exetel, make a note that you want to keep your VOIP Service numbers enabled.

On the service cancellation request form you have the option to keep VoIP number active.

Hope that helps!

Anthony.

I just spoke to exetel on the phone, and from my understanding if you do leave and want to keep your DID, it's "$5" as stated above

But can someone please clarify that that you do get $5 work of credit included in this or is it $5 a month plus calls made ?

Thank you..
