If you have a Belkin ATA VoIP phone adapter (probably ex iinet), it can be
used on an Exetel VoIP service. I have just sucessfully installed one as
follows:
Belkin ATA VoIP Phone Adapter (model F1PG200ENau)
Assumptions.
i. You have successfully connected your Belkin ATA VoIP phone adapter to
a modem router currently connected to your Exetel plan with VoIP enabled.
ii. You have been allocated an Exetel VoIP DID (ie. Your VoIP phone number).
You may have chosen this when reuesting the service, Exetel will confirm the DID via the email
sent with the VoIP password.
iii. You have a PC or laptop connected to the modem router
iv. You have a Belkin CD with the ATA Discovery Tool software ...
(note your PC/laptop needs JAVA installed (
http://www.java.com) for the tool to work.
The Discovery tool software is available from here...
http://www.belkin.com/au/support/articl ... 000&scid=0
v. You may not need to but ensure that your modem router has port 5060 allowed for UDP.
I have a Netgear modem and created a service called VOIP with port 5060 and allowed this
service from the firewall tab.
Step 1. run the discovery tool. From the 'Discovery / Results' tab double click
on the row found to bring up Windows internet explorer displaying the ATA logon
screen. The row should be something like...
192.168.0.2,UDP,OG3503A_AK01
Step 2. login (password is usually 'admin')
Step 3. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/Server
State <your state>
Address sip1.exetel.com.au
Send Registration Request with Expire Time 240
Outbound Proxy IP sip1.exetel.com.au
Outbound Proxy Port sip1.exetel.com.au
apply changes (usually re-boots the ATA)
Step 4. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/User 1
Change the following:
Primary Server <your DID>
CallerID Name <your DID>
Port 5060
Username <your DID>
Password <provided by Exetel via email>
apply changes (usually re-boots the ATA)
Step 5. Choose Advanced Setup/VoIP/CODEC
the default codec should already be G729 else change it to G729.
apply changes (if codec changed)
-----------------
You should now be able to use your VoIP service using the Belkin ATA.
