Call Forwarding - not working

I have tried to get call forward to work but have had no success. I want to be able to forward my registerd sip account A to my registed sip account B or any pstn number.

I have gone into the configuration tab under voip services A account and entered B 10 digit number - this does not work.

I have dialled 0111X ( x being 10 digit number of B account) from A phone line - this does not work.

After many conversations and emails to and fro with exetel the have informed me that my call forwarding is activated, I tell them that I can activate it, I just need them to fix the problem why the calls will not forward.

Now they tell me it works, account A rings 4 times and the call is terminated and not handed over to account B. From previous discussions with exetel I was informed that call forwarding was immediate, now they tell me it is after 10 secs.

4 rings is not enough time to answer the phone - so now I have removed the call forward number in the menmbers page, this di not work , then I dialled 0110 for account A, this didn't work - now I'm stuck with 4 rings

When I spoke to exetel I asked them if anyone else was having this problem with call forwarding and they informed me - NO. This is a one off case.

Is anyone else having this problem? Can anyone tell me how call forwding is really suppose to work and can I use the call forwarding option within my Netcamm nb9wmaxxn modem?

after browsing through numerous pages in this forum it appears that other people have had the same problems.

Can exetel tell me what the outcome was for ticket 1744866 31/10/2009?

Another user deducted the following -

That call forward from an ATA (which did work) appears to have been disabled within the Exetel VOIP network.
That if the SIP is actively registered in X-Lite or other device then Exetel call forwarding does not work.

can exetel confirm if this is correct?

Call Forwarding
Exetel voip service support call forwarding from the server end. That means you need to configure your call forwarding number in your member facility or by dialing certain codes through your voip phone.

Note that call forwarding can't be set in the End User devices. found this info on the exetel website - even though exetel have told me on many ocassions that I can set up call forwarding on my modem
Call forwarding works even if the voip is not registered or when you failed to answer the call.

you can set your call forwarding even from the voip phone, what you need to do is follow the following steps.

For activate call forwarding to a particular number

Dial 0111X. (where X. is the 10 digit telephone number that you want your calls to be forwarded)

To Deactivate call fowarding

Dial 0110

You need to de-register voip for forwarding to work. As long as voip is active it will not forward. Just remove the user/passwd from your ata or softfone.

Thanks for that, I have already tried unregistering the line but the calls will still not forward - even though exetel have this on their website -

"Call forwarding works even if the voip is not registered or when you failed to answer the call".

use the below special codes to enable/disable voip features via voip phones.

0112X - enable call forwarding always (X - number to be forwarded)
0111X - enable call forward on busy (X - number to be forwarded)
0110 - disable any call forwarding

0120 - disable voicemail
0121 - enable voicemail

0130 - turn on callerid
0131 - turn off callerid (outgoing calls)

0140X - voicemail/callforward timeout ( where 0 <= X < 30 )

ther seems to be a lot of confusion on call forwarding - your information contradicts the information below that I was given via a ticket from exetel helpdesk.

I have tried using the 0112x on "a" line with x being "b" line, when I phone "a" all I get is a engaged tone - it still does not work.

There needs to be some uniformity on what exetel staff tell their customers.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please be informed that you will only be able to forward all calls, not when busy on unreachable.

In order to forward all calls please refer to following instructions.

Dial 0111X - Enable call forwarding (having X as destination number)
Dial 0110 - Disable call forwarding

Brettwinter, my understanding is that call forwarding only works if your a or b line are either engaged on a call or not SIP registered in your Xlite or other ATA.

I had an issue a while back but that was fixed pretty quickly.

Here is the latest information from Exetel - who would know what is correct and what is not!!!

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please be advised for the moment voip to voip call forwarding is not accepted.

Call forwarding to landline/mobile should work with,
0112X
0111X

But we do not support these options for voip numbers.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for further concern.

Whatever the problem you had with call forwarding is now fixed.

We have made fix for forwarding between voip numbers. You should able to forward between your voip service numbers. please re check your service.

Note:- Call forwarding will take about 10 minutes to activate once you activate it via members facility or voip phone, as the information need to propagate call forwarding server.

sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Call forwarding is not working for me at the moment. When I dial 0111x or 0112x (with x being my mobile phone number), I get an engaged signal. When I test, the call forward is not activated.

I would also note that until a few months ago, I needed to activate call forwarding through changing the settings in my ATA and in my exetel account. A few months ago this had changed so that call forward all calls was 0111x from my handset; and a few weeks ago, call forward all calls was 0112x from my handset. I only found out what to do each time through identifying that it didn't work and then looking on this forum.

Can someone please advise what I need to do now so that I can activate (and deactivate) "call forward on busy" and "call forward all calls"?

Would you please let me know the Ticket number for your previous email that has been sent to Exetel Helpdesk or email residentialsupport@exetel.com.au with your VoIP number and the mobile number that you wish to divert the VoIP calls so I can test your account from here?

Hi

The issue has been fixed. you should able to use 0111x or 0112x short codes to enable call forwarding.

Thank you.
