Dynalink RTA1046VW ringing tone

Hi All,

Modem is up and running and is all ok. Just wiondering if there is any way of getting some kind of tone when you are trying to ring someone. At the moment when I dial a number its rings for about a millisecond and then there is just silence until the other person answers the phone. Not really anything wrong, but it is a bit strange and disconcerting...

Any way of fixing it??

VoIP or PSTN call? Either way it should ring until answered. What firmware is in use (see left side bar).

VoIP call and the firmware is 3.63z

Your firmware is out of date, which may be part of the problem. The Dynalink website lists 3.64y, but we can do better - the very latest patch, 3.65 is downloadable from Exetel as file cfe-rta1046vw_sip-v365_a2pb025c.pac. The file is located at http://exetel.com.au/files/cfe-rta1046v ... pb025c.dat.

If you wish to check the accuracy of your download, the md5 checksum is 71de08eabbe478ea9f90232ed2ddd54d.

This firmware includes a fix for the Dynalink initial silence problem. The instructions for changing firmware are at http://media.netcomm.com.au/public/asse ... ctions.pdf


PS: V 3.65 changes the familiar dial tones! A warbling noise for VoIP.
